Sunday August 04

DAY 01 [CITH OF COLOMBO – CITY OF HABARANA – APPROC 04 ½ HRS DRIVE]

After breakfast check out and transfer to city of Habarana. Stop over to visit city of Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Pinnawella Elephant Orphanage where abandoned elephants are raised. Not only orphans but also elephants who are seriously injured or those who get aloof from their group are given proper shelter & care at the orphanage. Check in to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at city of Habarana.

 

 Monday August 05

DAY 02 – MORNING [SIGIRIYA / MINNERIYA]

After Breakfast Explore ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Yet another UNESCO World Heritage site and provides the tourist in you with a lot of photo options. Sigiriya is one of the valuable historical sites of Sri Lanka. The magnificent rock fortress is located right on top of a volcanic plateau. Many locals also call it the eighth wonder of the world and it fully justifies that. The main entrance is in the shape of huge lion feet. The beauty, which is the rock, is a sight to behold and to enhance the beauty even more, the gigantic structure is surrounded by green landscaped gardens, water bodies and ruins of the fortress. The cave itself houses a mirror wall and also frescoes from the ancient era. The views from the top are quite breath-taking as well. Afternoon Safari at Minneriya National Park One of the country’s best-kept secret the Minneriya National Park, The safari through the grassland and along the lakes with breathtaking views of national park is a humbling experience. You might get lucky enough to find the biggest herd of Asian elephants. One of the main points in this park is the Minneriya Tank, which was built way back in the 3rd century AD by King Mahasena. You could see up to even 300 elephants around the time. This place is an animal lovers delight and will truly be a wild experience.

 

DAY 02 – AFTERNOON [SIGIRIYA /POLONNARUWA/PASSIKUDHA – 03 HOURS DRIVE]

Transfer to city of Passikudah.  Stop over to visit to Polonnaruwa Heritage Site Constructed under the reign of King Mahaparakram Bahu between the years 1153 to 1186, the striking Royal Palace stands as the emblem of grandeur in the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka. The Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu is a place of great historical importance, the reason why it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in the year 1982. Check in to the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at city of Passikudah.

 

Tuesday August 06

DAY 03 [CITY OF PASSIKUDAH – CITY OF YALA – APPROX 05 HOURS DRIVE]

After Breakfast, group transfer to city of Yala. Next Day Morning Safari at Yala National Park. Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. City of Yala is situated in Sri Lanka’s south-east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. City of Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of Leopards. Overnight stay at city of Yala.

 

 

Wednesday August 07

DAY 04 [CITY OF YALA – CITY OF ELLA - APPROX 03 HOURS DRIVE]

A quaint little town enclosed by the refreshing greens of tea plantations, Ella in Sri Lanka is a beautiful paradise that offers stunning mountain hikes, and lovely waterfalls. With picture-perfect environs, a pleasant climate. Explore Ella Walk along the Nin Arch Bridge Nine Arch Bridge which happens to be one of the best places to visit in Ella. Walk through the woods for 30 minutes to reach a piece of beautiful architecture hidden between lush green tea fields, and get a drink up in the hills at one of the cafes while you wait to wave at the passing train. The views are worth it! Mega Zip line – Optional The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometer, slides at 80kmph and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island. Get on board at Mini Adam’s Peak and fly over iconic tea estates and lush greenery overlooking the famous Ella Gap. Overnight stay at city of Ella.

 

Thursday August 08

DAY 05 [CITY OF ELLA – CITY OF NUWARAELIYA - APPROX 04 HOURS BY TRAIN]

After breakfast group transfer to Ella railway station to have a scenic up county train journey to city of Nuwara Eliya. At the city of  Nuwara Eliya, you can take a Boat ride on Gregory Lake. Your trip to city of Nuwara Eliya is not complete without a walk along the picturesque path of the Gregory Lake amidst the cool breeze and the hues of the sunset, making you admire the beauty of this iconic destination, Gregory Lake was used for watersports and promenades during colonial times. Little has changed since, a group boat ride can take you in the beautiful surrounding. Have a Taste of Unique city of Nuwara Eliya grown freshest tropical strawberries right from the very hub of the delicious and tangy fruit and explore he city for easts line the famous potato spiral. Friday August 09

DAY 06 [CITY OF NUWARA ELIYA – CITY OF KANDY– APPROX 02 HOURS DRIVE]

The hill capital of Sri Lanka; Kandy, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Not only is it a beautiful city surrounded by mountains, it is also home to significant historic and religious attractions such as the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The Kandy Lake is a Great place to People to watch in the shade of the ancient trees. Go for a walk with your travel buddy One of the unique aspects of Kandy as its laidback streets. Full of colorful kaleidoscope of colonial building house. Temple of the Tooth relic Explore the sacred temple of the Tooth relic, a historic location on both cultural and religious significance.
